W3 Schools

W3 Schools is the starting place for most beginners eager to learn web development. They teach a range of subjects such as HTML & CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and SQL. Each course has different exercises for you to complete, with a really good reference to help you learn the important parts. Even veteran web developers still use W3 Schools as a reference even after writing years of code.

To get a certificate of completion, you have to complete an Exam, and get a 75% passing mark to receive your certificate. Unlike the ones above, you have to pay for the certificate which at the time of writing is $95. We recommend not getting certificates for HTML or CSS but instead focus on passing the JavaScript test as that will have more of an impact on your CV. If you really want to improve though, you can use W3 Schools to learn about Web Development then create portfolios to show your employer instead. This will work out cheaper and you can gain much more experience from doing so.
